As an information design researcher at the Laboratory of Information Design Systems (LabDSI), he is interested in how the design of front-of-package nutrition warning labels impacts consumer attention and comprehension. His dissertation involves investigating techniques, tools, materials, and protocols to evaluate the communication efficacy of warning labels. Originally from Chile but living in Brazil, his previous experiences include: the design and evaluation of the Brazilian Triangular nutrition labeling proposal with the Brazilian Institute for Consumer\u2019s Defense (IDEC), and the development of digital instruction materials for Open University of Brazilian Ministry of Health (UnaSUS) and Pan American Health Organization (PAHO). His master\u2019s degree in Information Design at UFPR studied how health workers understand animated nutritional guides. He is a member of the Brazilian Scientific Society of Information Design (SBDI) and Latin American and Caribbean Nutrition and Health Community of Practice (COLANSA).\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Favorite quote related to food is&#8230; <\/strong>&#8220;Eat food, not too much, mostly plants&#8221; by Michael Pollan<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Favorite song about food is&#8230;\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=rio9dR3mKzA\"><em>Refazenda<\/em><\/a><em>\u00a0by Gilberto Gil.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>Most interesting food habit is&#8230; <\/strong>Breakfast that mixes the Chilean &#8220;pan con palta&#8221; (toast with avocado) and Brazilian &#8220;caf\u00e9 coado&#8221; (drip coffee). It seems like a weird combination for Chileans, who typically drink tea, and for Brazilians, who are used to eating toast with butter for breakfast.
