Laina is a doctoral student in the Department of Nutrition at UNC-Chapel Hill. She plans to minor in Epidemiology and to focus her research on the impacts of nutrition on human and environmental health. She is a Registered Dietitian with experience in both clinical and research settings prior to starting at UNC. She holds a Master of Science in Public Health in Human Nutrition from the International Health Department at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and she completed a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics at Kansas State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My \u201cgo-to\u201d comfort food is\u2026<\/em><\/strong> peanut butter topped sweet potatoes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The first thing I learned to cook was\u2026<\/em><\/strong> my grandma’s homemade apple pie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
