The program aims to develop and support scholars from different backgrounds, with potential advancement to tenure-track faculty appointments at UNC or other research universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Research appointments start July 1, 2023 and last two years. During that time, scholars will engage in full-time research and writing and may teach one course per year. Fellows receive:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"color:#007fae;font-size:18px\" class=\"wp-block-list has-text-color\">\n<li><strong>$50,000 annual salary<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Research funds<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Departmental mentor(s)\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Office<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Computer<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Health benefits<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, meetings and workshops will provide scholars opportunities for networking, social interaction and professional development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">CPPFD at the Global Food Research Program<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Applications for study in any discipline are welcome, but attention will be given to applicants whose research goals align with those of the&nbsp;<a href=\"mailto:https:\/\/www.globalfoodresearchprogram.org\/\"><strong>Global Food Research Program<\/strong><\/a>&nbsp;(GFRP). This includes interests in any of our&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalfoodresearchprogram.org\/policy-research\/\"><strong>focus policy areas<\/strong><\/a>, including:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Federal food assistance programs,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food marketing,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Food labeling,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>School food environments,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taxes and fiscal incentives, or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Other policies to promote healthier, sustainable diets.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At the GFRP, scholars can collaborate with a team of diverse public health professionals and students with expertise in nutrition, health behavior, epidemiology, economics, statistical analysis, and health communications to research the impacts of national and international food and nutrition policies. Our goal in this work is to inform on policies to reduce diet-related disparities in health and prevent and reduce obesity and other diet-related, non-communicable diseases. Appointment with the GFRP will be through our association with UNC-Chapel Hill&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/sph.unc.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>Gillings School of Global Public Health<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To apply<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Interested applicants can learn more at\u00a0the <a href=\"https:\/\/research.unc.edu\/carolina-postdocs\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong>CPPFD website<\/strong><\/a>.
